Well - todays tutorial was inspired by a card that I saw on Pinterest that was for sale by Paper D'Art. It wasn't exactly like the one I'm going to show you today - as it had cross struts rather than the pop up box mechanism that I've used. But I loved the look of it, so decided to make something sort of similar. I wasn't sure what to call it - so I decided to call it a Glorious Pop-Up Card!!!
You will need:-
Base card:-
- One 5" x 6"
- One 1" x 6" (scored at 1/2", 1", 3 1/4", 3 3/4")
- One 1" x 7 1/2" (scored at 1/2", 1", 4", 4 1/2")
- One 1" x 9 1/2" (scored at 1/2", 1", 5", 5 1/2")
Matt card:-
- Two 4 3/4" x 5 3/4"
- One 3" circle (cut in half)
- One 4" circle (cut in half)
- One 5" circle (cut in half)
Pattern Paper:-
- One 4 1/2" x 5 1/2"
- One 2 3/4" Circle (cut in half)
- One 3 3/4" Circle (cut in half)
- One 4 3/4" Circle (cut in half)
Plain White Card:-
One 4 1/2" x 5 1/2"
- Die cut shapes/ephemera
- Sentiment
1) Attach the 4 1/2" x 5 1/2" pattern paper onto the corresponding matt card, and then stick this onto the main base card.
2) Attach the other Matt rectangle onto the back of this, and then stick the plain white card on top of that.
3) Score the 3 strips as shown above, and then make up into three rectangles.
4) Add red tape on both sides of all three rectangles
5) Stick the smallest rectangle onto the back of the smallest semicircle, then stick the next largest rectangle onto the back of the mid semicircle, and lastly stick the largest rectangle onto the larges semicircle.
6) Starting with the largest - stick the semicircles - with their rectangles attached onto the front of the card
7) Now you can start decorating using all your ephemera and die cut shapes.
